Wildlife Policy

The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 and the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000 were passed to protect our wildlife and its habitat. Birds, their nests and eggs are protected as well as many other animal species such as bats, dormice and crested newts.

Lanacre Professional Tree Care recognises the importance of nature conservation and ecology and their place within arboriculture. Carrying out risk assessments and method statements for the work that we do raises appropriate issues when they are encountered. If protected species are discovered after work has started, operations will cease and the relevant authority will be contacted for further guidance if necessary. In the case of nesting birds, work will only continue once the nest has been left.

Any changes in regulations are noted and made part of our working practices.
